In addition to raising funds to support research, Women of Baycrest seeks to provide public education opportunities to raise awareness about brain age issues, focusing on the impact on women. These initiatives will provide reliable sources of current information and practical steps to increase healthy brain age outcomes.
Women of Baycrest wants to educate women across the country on what they can do to stay brain healthy longer and stay connected to everything that makes their lives meaningful. The Sex, Aging & Memory | Guide to Women’s Brain Health magazine will be a lay person’s guide to current research on women’s brain health, and will feature a summary of the sessions addressed in the Sex, Aging & Memory, Canada’s First Women’s Brain Health Conference.
The magazine, intended for national distribution in spring 2012, will be written in any easy to understand and engaging format, will feature current findings and will catalogue the gaps in knowledge requiring more research. It will also include current information on best practices such as diet, exercise, and activities known to enhance healthy brain aging.
